The Beör Palace

Built in 1908 by the cloth merchant Ferenc Szőke, the edifice is decorated with Art Nouveau ornaments. It was named after Kálmán Beör, a high school music teacher and choir director, Ferenc Szőke's father-in-law. Today the building is home to several offices. In 2014 in its basement the memorial house of the victims of the Romanian communist dictatorship was installed by the association of former political prisoners of Kovászna county.
